On July 3rd and 4th we invite you to a 2-days event of discussion, music and other creative activities, combined with drinks and nice food. The purpose of this coming-together is to raise money in solidarity with imprisoned anarchist comrades in Greece from the Ampelokipoi case and with comrades here in Berlin who have been facing repression after soli-actions for the case.

End of April this year, while fighting in the courtroom for the memory of the anarchist fighter Kyriakos Xymitiris, who lost his life in the battle for social and class liberation on October 31st 2024, Marianna Manoura and Dimitra Zarafeta got sentenced to 19 and 8 years of prison in first instance in the context of the Ambelokipoi case in Athens.

Last year, on May 29th, the collective bar Meuterei was re-opened for some hours in its former space in Berlin. People gathered to enjoy a community moment, to show their anger about the gentrification of the neighbourhood and to defend the memory of Kyriakos. Cops showed up, kettled and arrested several dozen people. Some of the comrades who participated in the action recently received high charges.

The collected money will be used to cover the costs of the trials both in Athens and Berlin.

Our solidarity is non-negotiable. Our memories weave our present. They enable us to imagine the path of liberation of all and to take the risk to walk along that path. To nourish optimism and hope that one day we will win.

Friday, July 3. Info event: The struggle continues – voices of (ex)prisoners and discussion about terrorism, internationalist struggles and solidarity.

There is a connection between the escalation of a global regime of war, collective responses from below, and the state’s application of anti-terrorism laws. In order to isolate and silence (resisting) people from movements and society, they are persecuted as terrorists or treated according to the same logic.

We see this with the anarchist prisoners Marianna and Dimitra in Athens, with the PalestineAction prisoners from the UK through the Czech Republic to Ulm, and with Palestinians worldwide. It is also a historical pattern, directed against the armed organizations that emerged from the ’68 movements in Western Europe.

On the one hand, we want to analyze what the current times — which we have described as the escalation of a global war regime — mean. On the other hand, we want to discuss what stance and what values we need for our struggles, which we must ground in a global perspective, with the prisoners at the forefront.

In this event, we would therefore like to hear from prisoners (via phone, in writing, or via voice message) and then hold a joint discussion. We want to bring together current and historical perspectives.

At 6:00 pm the call with Marianna and Dimitra will start.

The call will be followed by the voices of current and former prisoners in Germany and UK.

Saturday, July 4: Kiezfest der Solidarität des Gedenkens

All-day gathering with nice food and drinks, live music and lots of creative activities (also for the youngest) in front of New Yorck Bethanien. We will use this day as a chance to come together as an open community around the memory of Kyriakos and actively show our solidarity to our imprisoned and accused comrades.
