In this Political Movie Night, we offer an insight into “Paris la Révolutionnaire”: In the 1980s and 1990s, anarchist and anti-fascist movements as well as young anti-racists from the Banlieues (city outskirts) campaigned to drive right-wing extremist skinhead groups off the streets.
Their motivation: to fight against fascism and racist attacks by any means necessary, even by turning the violence they endured against their opponents.

Tuesday 23.09 :ANTIFA „Chasseurs de Skins“, 1:05min
We will see how the skinhead movement emerged in France and how it was appropriated by white right-wing extremist youth. In response, groups surfacing from the punk scene organized themselves into gangs to counter these neo-nazis. Anti-fascist gangs arose, ready to protect themselves, fight for their own and hunt down skinheads in the streets of Paris.

Sunday 28.09: LES BLACK DRAGON, 1:03 min
The first impetus for the Zulu movement came from the Black Dragon group, which was formed to fight against fascist skinheads. In response to the large number of racist attacks by small groups in the early 1980s, entire generations of anti-racist gangs emerged in the suburbs of Paris.
These first “hunts” for skinheads coincided with the awakening of “Back consciousness” among French youth and the beginnings of the hip-hop movement.
