Feminist Popular Education – Akelarre

Sunday 10.08. – 15:00 (Doors open at 14:30) – Rigaerstraße 94

On Sunday the 10.08. at 15:00, we want to come together ,in the garden of Rigaerstraße 94, for the first edition of „Akelarre“ (coven, Hexenzirkel, aquelarre).
This meeting will be the first of regular, monthly meetings for Feminist Popular Education, inspired by the concept of the educación popular in Latin America. We want to learn together about feminist theories, make difficult theoretical texts accesible for all of us and discuss about them. We want to create a space for learning together, development of feminist ideas and regular exchange.

On the 10.08. we want to learn and discuss about Donna Harraways „A Cyborg Manifesto“ (1985) as a base for our next meeting. If you want to read before the text, you can find it here: https://archive.org/details/1985.-haraway-a-cyborg-manifesto.-science-technology-and-socialist-feminism However you can also come unprepared. To make the text more accesible, we will create a glossary of terms, that we want to continue building up in the following meetings. Small snacks and hot and cold and drinks will be provided.

The input and discussion is prepaired in English. We welcome selforganized translation and will provide the necesary patience to make the space friendly to multiple languages. If you have at home, bring a dictionary.
